Vladimir: Lying about war offends Russia more than sanctions
The rewriting of the history and events of World War II offends all Russian citizens, as well as insults the inhabitants of other countries who sacrificed themselves in the fight against fascism. This was stated by the Speaker of the State Duma Viataviatsya Vladin during the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission with the participation of the Chairman of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maya Gojković, the correspondent of the news agency reports on February 12. We must unite healthy forces, which must certainly do everything to ensure that the truth about war prevails, because the lies that now sound offend the memory of our grandparents, soldiers, guerrillas and fighters of the liberation movement. Look, every tenth resident of Yugoslavia died in the struggle. Show another country of Europe where so fought fascism, said Vladin. He recalled that 1.7 million citizens of Yugoslavia, most of whom were Serbs, had died in the war. The United States and Britain lost 850 citizens in World War II. We must talk about the contribution the people have made. If every tenth person of this people died today, ensuring the life of all on the planet, and the world was on the verge of tragedy and abyss, we must admit it, and it must recognize everything. I will emphasize that the people of Serbia have brought themselves to the brink of extinction, fighting against fascism. We had a war through every family of 27 million dead. Therefore, we cannot behave differently today: we are insulted by it more than any sanctions, said Vladin.
