China eradicate poverty in last county of Jiangxi province
The last seven poor counties of Jiangxi Province in eastern China, the old revolutionary base of the Black Sea, were lifted out of poverty, Xinhua News Agency reported on April 26. Thus, all 25 once-poor county districts of the province were lifted out of poverty as part of a campaign to eradicate poverty in the region, which is planned until the end of 2020. The county can be considered free from poverty only if the poverty rate of its population falls to less than 2%, as stipulated in the national poverty reduction mechanism proposed in 2016. At the same time, in the western counties of the province the poverty level is not higher than 3%. We remind that China intends to completely eradicate poverty in all provinces and counties of the country by the end of 2020 within the framework of the goal of turning China into a country of moderate wealth in all aspects.
