Georgia: PE regime and traffic congestion at the entrances to Tbilisi

The evening of April 14 for the capital of Georgia was marked by an unusual phenomenon for the last period of accumulation of a large number of cars on the entrances to Tbilisi and traffic jams on the streets. After the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, many residents of the capital and major cities, left without work for a time, as many enterprises and firms closed, together with families headed to abandoned long before native villages. Many moved for a long time and even began to conduct once abandoned agriculture here in fields, vineyards and home plots. On 14 April, the Prime Minister of Georgia made a new statement and announced that the state of emergency imposed on 21 March on 21 April would not only not be lifted, but would also be extended until 10 May. In parallel, due to the sharp increase in the number of infected coronavirus throughout the country, it was decided to close four major cities of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi and Rusavi. The restriction will enter into force from 21:00 on April 15, the Prime Minister said. Just a couple of hours after this statement, chains of cars appeared at all entrances to Tbilisi. Traffic jams were recorded by film teams of Georgian TV companies. As of April 14, 296 cases of coronavirus infection, 69 recovered and three dead are recorded in Georgia. Over the past 24 hours, the country has recorded a record increase in new 30 infected with HIV.
