A court in the United States overturned the death sentence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev for the terrorist attack in Boston

The US Court of Appeals overturned the death sentence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev accused of a terrorist act at the Boston Marathon in 2013. The court decision was made on July 31. The decision of the US Court of Appeals said that Tsarnaev's death sentence on counts 4, 5, 9, 10 and 14 of the charges was canceled. Tsarnaev's case was transferred to the lower district court for a second new trial at the sentencing stage. Recall that back in December 2018, Tsarnaev appealed to the Court of Appeal with a request to cancel his death sentence for the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon. As previously reported by the news agency, in May 2015, a jury sentenced Tsarnaev to death, finding him guilty of organizing explosions during the 2013 Boston Marathon. The attack was committed on April 15, 2013. According to official figures, three people were killed in the explosion, more than 200 people were injured.
