Ex-head of the presidential administration of Ukraine faces from 5 to 8 years in prison


The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine sent an indictment to the court against the ex-people's deputy and former head of the presidential administration Sergei Pashinsky. This was reported by the press service of the department today, July 6, the correspondent of the news agency reports. The bureau clarifies that the case concerns Pashinsky's attack with the use of firearms on citizen Vyacheslav Chemius, which occurred on December 31, 2016. In the Kiev region, a verbal conflict arose between the people's deputy and a citizen at that time. During the conflict, the deputy took out a Glock 19 pistol and shot the man in the left leg. As a result, the citizen received bodily injuries in the form of a gunshot fracture of the femur of the left leg according to the conclusion of a forensic medical examination, the injuries caused are serious, the agency recalls. The statement notes that in case of evidence of guilt, Pashinsky faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years. the news agency recalls that Pashinsky in March 2014, after a coup in Ukraine, was appointed acting head of the presidential administration of Ukraine and held this post until Petro Poroshenko won the presidential election. In the fall of 2014, he became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation as one of the leaders of the Popular Front party.
