The riots in the region killed 145 civilians and 11 security forces, said Girma Gelama, Oromia State Police Chief. According to him, another 167 people were seriously injured. According to the news agency, Ethiopian pop star Hachalu Hundessa, who criticized the government in his songs, was shot dead on the evening of Sunday, June 28, in his car in the capital Addis Ababa.
