President of the Russian Federation expressed condolences on the death of Academician Paton

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences on the retirement of the head of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Boris Paton. This was announced on August 20 by press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. As the press secretary recalled, on the eve of sad reports from Ukraine that at the 102nd year of his life, the head of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, academician of the USSR, who automatically became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Boris Paton, died. At the same time, he noted that President Putin was familiar with the deceased and they had previously met. The President is deeply sorry for the death of the academician. Paton has always been a supporter of the preservation and development of a common scientific space, which our president greatly appreciated, Peskov said. Note, as the news agency reported, on August 19 it became known that the long-term head of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NANU) Boris Paton, Soviet and Ukrainian engineer, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1969 and 1978 year) died at the 102nd year of life.
