Protests in Minsk: Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus refutes reports of detentions

Information about the detention at protests of activists who disagreed with the official results of voting in the presidential election in Belarus is not confirmed in Minsk. This was announced on August 16 by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Olga Chemodanova to a TASS correspondent. According to her, there is no information about the detentions in the operational duty service. Earlier, a number of media reported that Maria Kolesnikova, who is the head of staff of presidential candidate Viktor Babariko, announced plans to sue law enforcement officers.
