Cuba commented on US restrictions on the import of cigars and rum

US restrictions on the import of Cuban cigars and rum will primarily hit the interests of American citizens, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on his Twitter page. Restrictions on the residence and import of Roma and tobacco limit the rights of Americans and affect families in both countries, he said. Rodriguez added that US sanctions against Cuba can never break the Cuban people. According to him, the introduction of new bans by Washington is dictated by the interests of the American leader Donald Trump before the upcoming presidential election. According to the news agency, on September 23, US President Donald Trump promised to tighten restrictions on the import of Cuban cigars and rum in order to combat communist oppression. He also promised to ban American citizens from staying at facilities that belong to Cuba.
