New treaty obliges Serbia to move embassy in Israel to Jerusalem

Belgrade is obliged to transfer the Serbian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by his agreement with the Kosovo side, US President Donald Trump said in a statement released on September 4. Kosovo and Israel agreed to normalize ties and establish diplomatic relations. Serbia pledged to open a trade office in Jerusalem this month and move its embassy to Jerusalem by July [2021]. Trump, as previously reported by the news agency, Serbia and Kosovo, through the mediation of the United States, signed an agreement on the normalization of economic relations. At the same time, Belgrade does not recognize the independence of Kosovo, which is an autonomous region of Serbia.
